ASUS VivoBook F510UA-AH55 Review

The ASUS VivoBook F510UA-AH55 is one of the best laptops you can buy if you are looking for something lightweight, but with some serious power under the hood. This laptop has an Intel Core i5-8250U processor and it’s one of the most popular mid-range processors available on the market today. This means that this machine can handle pretty much anything you throw at it without breaking a sweat, whether it’s video editing, gaming or just browsing the web.

Design

ASUS did a great job with the design on these devices. All metal, fingerprint reader, full 1080p HD display and an Intel Core i5 chip all for $730. Sure, it might not have as much storage as some other laptops out there but you can always buy a different hard drive or add more RAM. ASUS is one of my favorite companies when it comes to Windows 10 laptops and I would highly recommend getting one. They are fast and efficient and work great for college students on a budget.

The only downsides were its lower power speakers, small mousepad and webcam placement. But overall, I think these devices deserve 5 stars because they come at such a low price for everything you get!

They also have great customer service, who answered all of my questions within a day. I would recommend these devices to anyone looking for an affordable laptop that still performs like a thousand-dollar machine.

Features

Full HD display, fast quad-core processor, plenty of memory, lightweight and affordable. This laptop packs a lot of value into its portable frame. It’s well worth checking out if you’re in need of a new system for work or school. Not only is it reasonably priced, but it also offers great performance. With an efficient Intel Core i5-8250U Quad-Core 2.6GHz processor & 8GB RAM to easily handle all your multitasking needs, not to mention making short work of most games–you’ll be turning heads when you’re on your next gaming session!

The ASUS F510UA features a USB 3.0 port, so that they can be used with any modern PC. Any data stored here will transfer much faster than many other options are available right now–and can even be used as extra space for files that have been taken off of bulky hard drives or slow-moving cloud storage services! It includes a fingerprint reader built right into the touchpad so that they can log onto their machine quickly and securely without having to type their password every time they turn on their computer!

The Vivobook’s battery life is seriously impressive. With their HD display, 8GB RAM and integrated graphics, it might not be as powerful as other gaming laptops on our list–but its energy efficiency shouldn’t be discounted. The Vivobook is more than capable of staying unplugged for several hours at a time without any worry of losing power. If you need something to last during a long day at school or work, make sure you take a look at ASUS’ new Vivobook!

Performance

The ASUS VivoBook F510UA (and its cousin, the Asus Pro B9440) offer strong performance for both standard laptop use and for multimedia purposes. Most laptops of a similar size are equipped with lesser quad-core processors, which don’t always measure up to what power users want in terms of performance. On paper, Asus advertises a Core i5 processor on their official website; however, in real life tests we found that it is actually an Intel Core i7.

This will have no noticeable impact on day-to-day tasks, but it could make a difference when using resource-intensive programs or high definition applications such as movie editing or gaming. A notable upgrade from last year’s model is adding 8GB DDR4 RAM memory as opposed to 4GB DDR3 – again contributing to better processing speeds. In spite of these improved specs, our benchmarks show little improvement over last year’s model…something you won’t notice at all during daily usage.

Battery Life

The Asus Vivobook’s battery life, which is measured in hours, isn’t bad but it’s no standout either. It got an average of eight hours and 22 minutes on our tests, which simulated continuous web browsing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness. The HP Spectre x360 15 t lasted four minutes longer, while other systems like the Dell XPS 13 (11:22) and MacBook Air (16:45) lasted far longer. Still, that’s plenty long for you to get through a couple feature-length movies or a full workday. (If you want to see how long a laptop will last under real conditions rather than idealized ones—that is, using email instead of surfing the web constantly—try Laptop Mag’s grueling work battery test.)

Conclusion

Despite its flaws, ASUS’s F510UA is an impressive machine. For students, it offers a combination of power and portability that’s nearly impossible to beat. And since it can easily be upgraded, you won’t have to worry about replacing it for a few years down the road either. In addition, with its 15-inch screen, you get more screen real estate than many notebooks in its class—making it ideal for getting work done on planes or in coffee shops.
